We’re heavily dependent on it, yet the whole setup feels like a complicated chain. Amazon often serves as a central hub for many services. If this system becomes too reliant on a few key points, a failure there could lead to major disruptions. The design originally relied on dial-up modems—millions of them—but that made breaking the chain nearly impossible. Now it’s mostly large corporate networks, which means far fewer single points of failure. That makes me feel uneasy.
