I encountered an issue in the Event Viewer and considered modifying the registry. After following the steps, I experimented with the Immersive shell. When I exited and ran a benchmark, my usage fluctuated between 50 and 99 percent. Some games performed well, while others showed poor performance. It’s possible that registry changes influenced this behavior.

It's unlikely. Probably the games you're playing are slowing down, VSync is enabled, or a game setting is affecting your performance.

It could be a graphics bottleneck due to insufficient GPU power or driver issues.

Adjust each visual option and observe if performance improves. Occasionally the game runs poorly due to coding issues that limit GPU usage.

Your system configuration plays a key role in how the operating system recognizes and manages the software and hardware components connected to your device. It influences how the OS interacts with peripherals, though it shouldn't directly impact the graphics card's performance or rendering. Since rendering is largely fixed, focus on identifying hardware limitations such as system settings and compatibility issues. The specific error you encountered might help pinpoint a solution. Avoid making changes to your registry unless you're comfortable with the process.

You can view the details at the provided link. I carefully went through it, then restored the PC to its original state before making any changes. The problem was related to DistributedCom in the Event Viewer, leading to crashes.

It seems there was a command root error. I’d like to assist, but replicating the problem would require a version of Windows 8 since I haven’t upgraded for UI design reasons. It looks like you fixed it by reinstalling. Generally, a clean reinstall is preferable—it’s faster and avoids registry risks, though it can be tricky unless you’re comfortable with the process. It seems the fix might have addressed a corrupted root key, which is why a fresh install works best. The support team didn’t mention a corrupted key, so I’m sorry I couldn’t help further. Sometimes checking the machine directly helps diagnose issues. Not every blanket solution works.
