I’m planning to switch to a GTX 770 or similar 800/900 series graphics card and want to know if Skyrim can run smoothly with 4GB of VRAM. Right now I have 768MB, and my heavily modified version often hits the limit, leading to stuttering and lag. I’m considering a 4GB card but unsure if Skyrim will fully utilize it. I’d prefer lower resolutions like 720p and reduced texture details to save memory, even if it means sacrificing some visual quality. I’m not looking for any other games that require a lot of RAM besides Skyrim, and I don’t mind spending extra money just to double my VRAM if it improves stability. Plus, I’d rather have more memory than none at all, especially since I haven’t upgraded in a while and want to future-proof my system for the next few years.
It supports a 6GB configuration, and you can upgrade it further if needed.
you also use that RAM and the overclock it on my 770 it was easy to reach 8ghz
I'm using 2GB RAM with a heavily modified game, occasional memory problems occur but are uncommon.
