Upgrading a texture from 64x64 to a higher resolution is generally not recommended unless necessary. Doing so can cause performance issues and visual artifacts in older games.

The game engine probably can't handle it, but backing up the files is safe to try. Share your findings.

You can boost the resolution of your bricks texture by adjusting the pixel density settings in GIMP. Check the texture options and increase the resolution value until it meets your needs.

The process restricts the image to a fixed 64x64 grid regardless of scaling attempts.

The white space remains visible, making it seem like your images are obscured. Consider checking your settings or clearing caches for potential fixes.

The scale tool should be easily accessible (6 on the tool box).

The game engine may not handle it well, but that doesn’t have to stop you from experiencing it. For scaling images, a tool exists—similar to what Ubuntu suggested. In my GIMP version, it’s under the "image" menu (just below the blue selection box). You might also enjoy using "Windows" → "Single-Window Mode" in modern GIMP for a cleaner layout. Overall, the documentation is quite helpful for most common tasks, offering plenty of resources if you dive deeper.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the detailed response. I'll keep an eye out for early 2000s game engine support. If it's not available, I'll definitely explore alternatives and research options. You're right—this might require some extra effort!
