It's interesting to wonder if anyone can access 10 gigabytes of internet by purchasing a server, though availability varies by location. It might be limited to specific areas. I'm just curious about whether it's possible in your area and what it would take. Sorry for the unclear English—I'm not from the U.S.

You don’t need to purchase a server to enjoy 10Gig Internet speed. You’ll still require a 10G modem, a router, and a compatible Ethernet or SFP+ card for any PC you want to use. Availability varies by location; not all ISPs provide this service everywhere. You should reach out to your local ISP to confirm if they offer 10G speeds in your area.

Typically internet providers won’t provide 10 Gig internet for a long time because of the expense, limited consumer router support, and computers rarely have 10 Gig Ethernet ports. Most 10 Gig connections are used for LAN networks. If you need a home server with full backup, having a 10 Gig Ethernet port on your router and server would work perfectly.

The availability differs by location. I'm restricted to 1Gbps cable internet, with slow rollouts of 1Gb fiber in my vicinity. The next town ahead offers 2.5Gb fiber. Access levels change greatly, and most regions still lack 1Gbps. Many people I know are capped at around 60 Mbps.

Just a note: 10GB equals 80Gb Internet is priced in bits, not bytes. In the US, only a handful of locations provide 10Gb connections, usually requiring proximity to major cities. If you can afford it, you might pay for 100Gbps service when you need it.

Generally, the necessary fiber for high-speed 10Gb transmission is found in densely populated or industrial zones.
