Intel offers 3200 Mhz, so I aim for precise timing. @RONOTHAN## is correct about ring clock. Even with an 8-core setup, a 36-38x ring works best—well above 3200. Anything higher leads to diminishing returns and too much heat. I’m hoping the next generation will bring back Gear 1, since it proved CPUs can manage more workloads.
