Your current setup runs smoothly on the Asus X470 with an R5 2600X. Consider upgrading to an R5 5600 for better performance, especially if you plan to stream or play at higher resolutions. Alternatively, adding more RAM could help with multitasking and future upgrades. Your usage at 1080p, 144Hz, and 4K suggests you likely don’t need the biggest jump yet.

16gb of RAM for 150 is a huge waste. A 16gb package costs around 60-70 euros, while a 5600 is a solid option at about 170 euros. Look at the 5600—it's usually more affordable and offers similar performance.

It depends on the titles you play. At 4K resolution, you're unlikely to notice a difference in most games—around 99%. A 5600 would offer a noticeable improvement unless your graphics card is already limited.

For gaming, the 5600G behaves more like the 3600 because it doesn’t have a cache—its L3 cache is half that of the non-G model. Regarding RAM prices, I thought it was due to someone wanting another 3200 CL14 kit, which tends to be quite expensive. Memory with such tight timings usually costs around 60-70 euros.

It only supports PCIe Gen 3, so using a Gen 4 SSD won’t work

Check your current RAM from GSKILL and decide if upgrading makes sense at this time.

The RAM likely comes from a Samsung B-Die model, expected to cost a lot, but it can be optimized for extremely high speeds with very precise timing. This is just an informed estimate, as most G.Skill sets with such tight settings tend to be the best quality.

I own a 5,5600 with a 4.54GHz overclock boost using Ryzen Master and Fera 5 cooling; it performs well for gaming alongside my RX 3070.

However, Ryzen's performance drops significantly after 3600MHz, making the extra cost seem unnecessary.
