Are you considering switching from the Ryzen 5 1600 AF to the 3600? Your current RAM runs at 3200MHz and you've already boosted it to 3000MHz without any issues. The upgrade could be beneficial, especially since you can purchase a new 3600 for just 100 euros during the Christmas sale. Your GPU is a 1650 series, but you're thinking about upgrading when prices stabilize locally. Need advice on whether this change would improve performance or value?
I think it's a good upgrade, it may not perform as well or under the same efficiency as ryzen 5 5600 but still a great CPU. I made a whole excel spreadsheet and chart to pair the data: and it seems that the 1600 isn't one of the best performing CPU in that Era anyway. But you will most likely feel the difference if you upgrade, especially with a newer GPU.
It looks like a solid improvement. If a 3700 was available, I’d think about it as well.
Your 450W power supply should be able to handle the R5 3600, but it depends on how you use it. The R5 Pro 3600 is more powerful than the regular R5, so if you need higher performance, you might save money by getting the Pro version.
