That's a lot of RAM, I believe we won't undertake any university projects needing more than 8-16, but thank you.

Highly probable that at least one VM will be necessary. A Linux environment is definitely needed. A Docker space would serve as the second VM. I have spent 35 years in software development and I’m confident with my 32GB suggestion.
