Yes, it's Star Citizen!
Many people are talking about this game. Would you like an explanation of its mechanics and playstyle? Thanks!
It would be simpler to visit the website and read up on Star Citizen. Here’s a brief overview: Star Citizen is still in alpha development, meaning it hasn’t been fully completed yet, but it remains open for testing with CIG, the creators. Currently, only a few game modes are available: Arena Commander – a multiplayer battle where ships clash in open arenas, often in teams or against the Vanduul (the antagonists); PU (Persistent Universe) – the main universe where players can explore, complete missions, engage in satellite battles, and socialize. At present, there’s just one planet and a few moons to interact with, but it’s expected to be much larger than any previous game, spanning around 1 million km by 1 million km with an additional 250,000 km. Racing is another feature, allowing you to compete on a track-style race. Most ships are free to use; they can be acquired later through in-game credits earned over time. The base package costs about $40 and provides a ship, initial credits, some protection, and full access to the game. A single-player campaign called Squadron 42 is in development, along with a first-person shooter mini-game that’s not yet available. Upon release, dying results in permanent loss of possessions, but your character remains active for future play. The developers emphasize giving players meaningful consequences for their choices. Currently, only about 140 star systems are planned, with roughly ten planets per system, though numbers may change. That’s all I’ve gathered so far—feel free to ask if you have more questions!
Optimization? That’s a big topic. Right now, Star Citizen isn’t really geared toward efficiency—can be quite demanding on system resources. Many players are finding it tough to maintain stable FPS in the public mode with high-end graphics cards. I’m not even sure if 4K is available anymore. Still, things have improved a lot. Arena Commander feels smooth from my perspective, though there’s a bit of jittery behavior right now. We’re expecting the Alpha 2.4 patch soon, which should bring some solid upgrades—but it might also cause issues with other versions. If you decide to try it, be aware of what you’re committing to. It’s Alpha by design, and we’re testing it ourselves.
no card supports running those intense AAA titles at 4k with top settings, and starcitizen is quite tough (still not fully optimized).
