Hey everyone, just built a new PC after my old one was really bad. I wanted to run Windows 10 Pro and later dual boot OS X. The specs are pretty solid: Intel Core i5-6600, GIGABYTE motherboard, 12GB RAM, DDR4 GPU, ASUS storage drives, SanDisk Ultra II, Sharkoon WPM600 600W power supply. I’m planning to use Hackintosh but am still getting the hang of it. Anyone know if this setup works with Hackintosh? Also, is Luca’s OS compatible?
OP, you might not receive an immediate response because Hackintosh involves breaking Apple’s EULA, so we keep the discussion brief on this forum. The topic is generally acceptable, but it often results in users sharing prohibited links and closing the thread. I’m not an official authority here—it’s just a user-to-user exchange. Still, addressing your question about compatibility isn’t against the rules. There are definitely more detailed discussions elsewhere online.
Sure, I understand. Looking forward to your Hackintosh discussion.
I didn't attach anything. Apple has never managed to get anyone on Hacintosh.
I still hesitate about it. Highlighting a piracy site is sufficient to connect the issue. It's wise to report illegal behavior on a public platform where others can view your comment. We understand that offering guidance on committing piracy places someone in the wrong place; however, I won't provide instructions since they are breaking laws they don’t fully grasp. Simply letting them know their actions are incorrect is enough.
Breaking a EULA doesn’t equal piracy; many people unintentionally violate terms. Piracy involves reusing installer files. It’s acceptable if moderators decide not to address it, but talking about macOS installation is just as legal as installing Linux. Even an early Windows Safari version restricted use on non-Apple devices in its EULA. Don’t instill fear when people explore alternative operating systems.
Setting up MacOS follows the same legal standards as installing Linux. The licensing terms explicitly prohibit use on unauthorized devices, a condition outlined in the EULA, which acts as a digital agreement and carries some legal weight. Today’s discussions about piracy often focus on sharing or distributing files, programs, or operating systems through unapproved channels, but this can also include misuse of the content. Hackintosh techniques qualify as piracy, particularly since OSX is no longer sold independently. You must have a Mac to obtain an image of MacOS.
