Evaluating the upgrade involves comparing performance and value. The Ryzen 5 1600 offers better multi-core performance than the Ryzen 3 2300X, making it a solid choice if you need more processing power for tasks like gaming or video editing. Consider your usage needs before deciding.

the r5 1600 is better, but only if you get it for a decent price. I would suggest saving up for a Ryzen 5 3600, which has very good price / value.

A reasonable price for the 1600 would be around $1,200 to $1,500 depending on the specific details and market conditions.

It performs better with multicore processors while maintaining single-core performance. The 2300X offers a 20% boost and improved RAM support.

The FPS difference varies across games, with some showing noticeable variations while others are relatively consistent.

Unless you're using a 2080Ti/3070/6700XT or higher, you likely won't notice significant FPS changes in games. A reliable method is to install MSI Afterburner with Rivatuner to check if your GPU is operating close to full capacity. If it is, the CPU performance remains unaffected.
