It depends on your needs—smaller 16GB offers faster access times, while 32GB provides more storage for larger files.

It varies based on your motherboard, processor, and RAM. You might be able to, while others might not.

I think 2 GB is sufficient. XMP refers to RAM speed. What type of RAM do you have? Also, what is the motherboard model and CPU? You mentioned using four 8 GB Corasir Veangeance RGB pro SL RAM modules with an Asus ROG Strix B550-f Gaming Wi-Fi and a Ryzen 5 5600X. You also said you can overclock them to 3600 MHz, even though the sticks are rated at 3200 MHz.

Four sticks might offer improved results compared to two sticks of identical speed and timing, though this varies based on the RAM and CPU. High-speed RAM could face stability issues with four sticks while two sticks still work fine. I’m assuming a dual-channel setup above. Except in the very early DDR4 period, 8GB sticks are single-rank. With two ranks per channel, the memory controller can optimize better, boosting both timing and actual performance.

If it doesn't boot, keep xmp active for timing settings but lower the clock speed by a few hundred MHz.

It depends on whether the package was 4x8GB or two separate 2GB units. If it's the first option, XMP should apply. Otherwise, adjust settings like clock speeds, voltage, and frequency manually.

Varies with the processor, yet all my four-stick bundles (two combined kits) work smoothly at XMP. Give it a try and share your thoughts. Your existing RAM is already installed, so enable XMP for best performance.
