I just installed these parts into my setup: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming, AMD 3700x, G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB (2x16GB). Suddenly I'm hearing unusual sounds—more like a repetitive clicking than the usual whine. Have anyone experienced something similar? I captured a short recording and it clearly shows this "meeping" sound beginning around second six. It also happens when the system is idle, but gets louder during games or heavy apps. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t change based on what’s running. Case whine.m4a
Another track has been made available in MP3 format. You might want to increase the volume slightly; the "meeping" is clearly present, particularly two instances. It begins softly and gradually becomes noticeable. After listening to around 2000 of these progressions, you might start thinking about drastic changes like removing your ears (though that seems extreme). (I'm curious if it connects to the PSU or one of the fans—replacing a fan or PSU would be preferable over swapping the motherboard...) Coil Whine (online-audio-converter.com).mp3
I might be mistaken because it's tough to hear clearly and understand exactly what it sounds like. I experienced a similar noise from my PSU just before it failed. It was a low-quality unit that couldn't handle heavy overclocking. After replacing it, the issue disappeared.
