I need assistance upgrading an old router. You're considering a mesh Wi-Fi system and wondering if Ethernet extenders can provide similar speeds to your computer. Your setup includes a modem near the office computer and a 50-foot Ethernet cable to your gaming PC. To clarify, you'd connect one of the mesh extenders directly to the main router using a hard-wired connection.

Your performance really relies on how fast you're moving. The only thing that stays consistent is the rise in delay when switching from wired to wireless. This slows down fast tasks noticeably. Why did the cable seemed to be the problem?

It wouldn't be identical to a cable since the WiFi connects between each station. In fact, I believe it uses 5GHz WiFi between the main router and satellites, which would provide a good bandwidth. However, there might be some performance reduction. You probably won't even notice any differences. My sister has three of these and they seem to function very well for her.
