Tomahawk uses a basic VRM design. I didn’t focus on premium components here. Of course, I could keep going about how the 8 4C024N transistors won’t handle the 9700k well with reasonable temps (see MSI X570 A-Pro/Gaming Plus/Gaming Edge models with 3900X—those chips can draw as much power as the VRM on these boards, and 9700k works just fine). But folks like you jump to conclusions too quickly, so you probably won’t hear me explain further. Is CPU overclocking the main issue?
I’d check out the GB Z390 Gaming X – it’s more affordable and still decent in performance. Plus, the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro is a solid option too.
