I want to help my friend start playing games, but I'm not sure his computer will support them. Checking the specs at http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/pcs/N...01UB-specs might clarify it.

If 40-50 frames per second works for them, then it's fine.

Honestly, not trying to tear you down, but unless you're getting an amazing deal, that could be one of the worst laptops on the market for your needs. I recommend shopping around on Newegg to find a machine that provides a bit more oomph in a more power efficient package.

I can run it for you; my setup is comparable to yours.

It seems his companion already possesses it.

He probably thinks his friends are full of exaggerated tech knowledge. That wouldn’t be something I’d suggest to anyone looking for a laptop... How much would you expect to pay?

He’s showing his friend around PC gaming and has that laptop in hand. He’s curious about its performance with his friend’s setup, not the one he’s considering buying himself.

Sure, I understand now. I completely misunderstood what the OP was asking—I thought it was about buying a laptop for a friend. Let me take off my head and come back shortly.

The decision favours you, though I doubt it will run smoothly. You may notice some slowdowns and lower frame rates, with occasional lag before you adjust the settings. The main worry is whether your friends' computers would be affected negatively.

You need to edit a configuration file, yet once done it will operate smoothly at 80 FPS with 960x540 resolution on low settings.
