You have an NVMe M.2 slot. What motherboard are you using? There are some useful jumper placements printed nearby to guide you toward SATA or PCIe M.2 configurations.

This H61 board is quite outdated, and its BIOS will likely not recognize M.2 devices well.

It seems an M.2 device should fit into the socket, but I doubt the advertised speeds will be realized. I’m confused about what those numbers are intended for and why there are four ports. Also, I can’t locate a manual for this product.

It's an M2 port and I believe it's SATA-based since H61 doesn't support booting from NVME. NVME will only be detected in one of the PCI-e slots for storage purposes, but it won't allow booting.

M.2 supports both SATA and NVMe, making it a solid option. It does allow NVMe functionality, though I’m unsure about the boot process. Edited October 21, 2023 by leclod
