Verify the motherboard box contains this image; if present, proceed without updating. Current most B450 boards are compatible with Ryzen 3000.

Typically, most B450 boards come with Zen 2 or Zen + APU pre-installed. If the vendor or a local shop didn’t update the BIOS, it’s likely you’ll need to do it yourself.

Have you purchased the board yet? If not, reach out to the seller and inquire about including the updated BIOS. Most vendors will gladly provide it upon request. If not available, you may need to obtain a 2000 or 1000 series chip from another source and handle the installation yourself.

I possess the same MB on her PC and just verified the box—it indicates it's compatible with the Ryzen 3000 series. Unless it's been stored there for a year or more, you should be all set. If not, AMD might provide a temporary CPU to refresh your BIOS.
