Hi everyone, I'm really sad since my mom passed away recently and I've moved with my dad now. Staying online with friends for games and chats is important to me, but the connection here is very weak. I was thinking about getting a Powerline Adapter to hopefully improve things and feel better. Would that be a good solution? Also, my current speed is around 500kb/s—please share a screenshot of a Speedtest result when you read this. I really hope someone can assist me. Thanks in advance!

It varies based on whether you're connected via Wi-Fi or not and the details of your data plan. Start by connecting the PC directly to the router and perform a speed test. If it's significantly faster, consider using a powerline adapter; otherwise, the internet connection itself may be the bottleneck.

Thanks, but it might be tricky since the PC and router are on separate floors. I’ll try it out.

You can perform the task once and then revert it. If you have a long cable available, use it for testing.

Sorry for your loss, man. Powerline relies a lot on the electrical wiring, so if your dad's house is old, the wiring might not be in good condition, which can affect the signal quality.

The home isn't that old—about 15 years—so it shouldn't cause any issues.
