It relies on the access point or router configurations. When they offer a filtering feature, you can use it; otherwise, you might need an external tool such as the RPi.

If you put your money into a hotspot system or router setup, it’s completely fine. Just make sure to use a Squid with a whitelist if you want extra security.

I believe the feature was in the pie blocker, and you can obtain pie hotspot kits. This would let me price it around $80 if permitted to distribute the free software. That estimate also covers a high-quality DIY power bank.
