Hello everyone, I'm planning to set up RYZENTOS on my PC. Unfortunately, I don't have a GPU at the moment, but I'll get one soon. Meanwhile, can I install Hackintosh on my Ryzen 5 3400G APU? My setup looks like this: CPU - Ryzen 5 3400G, Mainboard - Gigabyte B450 S2H, RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 8GB x 2, SSD - Adata 120GB M.2, HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB. Thanks ahead of time.

APU isn't compatible at the moment, according to what I understand. The system runs differently. Intel's integrated graphics work natively, but for GPUs you should choose an AMD model, not an Nvidia one.

Feeling a bit sad right now. The choice of AMD card and Nvidia isn't clear to me. What do you think about it?

Apple discontinued Nvidia cards in the 9th generation. The 10th generation still supported drivers from Nvidia, though reliability isn't assured. AMD cards work natively, matching Intel CPUs. Ryzen processors are functional (I've tested it), but achieving full 95% compatibility requires effort. The optimal setup remains an Intel CPU paired with AMD graphics. For serious use, consider this a dedicated configuration rather than casual experimentation.

Apple had a poor connection with Nvidia before and after macOS Mojave. Newer Nvidia cards stopped working. It seems Apple stopped making drivers for them and changed their secure boot process. Consequently, the Nvidia web driver won't function. I match what @SupaKomputa said—AMD hackintosh can be tricky but manageable. I've tried it, but it wasn't great. If you're really into Hackintosh, consider using an Intel CPU with compatible Nvidia cards (like my Core i3 9100 + Nvidia 710)...

You need to modify your build settings for creating a hackintosh.

Use a GPU with a budget option, don’t aim for the newest models. I’ve worked with an Radeon HD 5670 previously—it should cost about $20 used. Look for success stories on Reddit or AMDOSX.com using your matching CPU and motherboard specs, and follow the instructions closely.

The 10th generation cards run official Nvidia drivers only on macOS High Sierra and earlier versions. They fail completely on Mojave and newer releases.
