Yes, it's generally fine to pair a 7800X3D with four RAM sticks and EXPO. However, using dual-channel only is recommended for optimal performance. Running the memory controller under heavy load with such a configuration could cause issues, so consider using dual-channel as well. Your setup sounds solid—just ensure the RAM sticks are compatible and match the speed requirements.

It's ok to try. It will not hurt anything. (it won't "overload" anyhting. It just may not run at the rated speeds. BUT if this is a new machine, why not just get a 2x16 instead.

it looks cool to see all slots populated and I never got 25+ on ram consumption and never got a problem on my 5700x3d, b550, 4x8gb 3200mhz xmp. But since this is a new platform and heard stories, might as well as ask before I buy it. And if yall really recommend 2x16, then I would go that route

The 7800X3D at 6000Mhz offers optimal performance, while 5200Mhz will still function but sacrifices some speed. I use two 32GB GSKILL sticks at 6000Mhz and it performs great.

It's really unsettling when a device behaves differently based on frequency settings. I noticed it crashed at 9800x3d but ran smoothly at 5600mhz, which is the standard speed. For 7800x3d, I'm curious if it's still stable.

Avoid using 7800X3D with 4x16GB at 6000MT/s. Stick to DDR5 sticks in the 6000CL30 to CL36 range. Don't forget, my DDR4 setups stay under 100MB.

5600 sets the upper limit for CPU performance and RAM compatibility. Going beyond that is usually seen as an overclock. My 7800X3D works fine with 6000 MHz RAM, but if you get genuine modules, sticking with two 6000 MHz sticks is recommended. You can return the RAM if it doesn’t perform as expected, but that’s generally safe.

I test 2 32 gigabytes at 6000mhz on my 7800X3d and everything works fine, no problems with the op on his CPU.

Wow, great! I was nervous about going past because my friend had a 9800x3d and 6000MHz, it got really intense, but once we switched to the official speed of 5600MHz it settled down, which is why I’m worried about pushing beyond the official max by AMD.
