You can move Windows 10 from your new laptop to your PC using a USB drive. Just copy the OS files onto the drive and reinstall it on your new machine. You won’t need a physical disk unless you prefer a backup. This way, you avoid extra costs while keeping your setup flexible.

The laptop's windows are an OEM model and cannot be legally moved to another PC. Using it would violate the Windows EULA. I noticed Newegg had Windows 7 and 8 available for $90. For university students, Win8 Pro is offered at $60.

Here’s a revised version of your message:

I believe you can also use the student email address provided. The link is available here: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msus....288769600. Pricing is $70, but it qualifies for free Windows 10 Pro Edit. You might also receive Windows for free if your school has a Dreamspark subscription at http://dreamspark.com. DreamSpark offers software like Visual Studio and Windows Server OS. If your university provides a subscription, you could get Windows 8.1 for free along with other premium programs.

You might explore Reddit, find some affordable options, and save the ISO file to install via USB or disc. I purchased Windows 8.1 for $20.

This solution is nearly complete. Please note that each license allows only one machine usage—desktop and laptop cannot share the same license simultaneously.
