Hey there! I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible to link two monitors together so they display content from both a PC and a MacBook. You have a ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C dock with extra ports, and you're using Windows 11 Pro alongside macOS Sonoma. The setup includes a Dell U3417w and U2515H monitors, with the dock providing multiple connections. The challenge is getting both displays to work seamlessly across operating systems. I'm not sure if this is even achievable with the current configuration.
I've only tested this setup with two Lenovo 27-inch monitors, using DP between them and to the dock.

The menu on monitor 1's OSD that lets me change inputs is hidden. Yet, when I switch monitor 2 to HDMI via the OSD, macOS appears. It’s confusing and makes my head spin trying to connect everything.

Ensure each monitor functions correctly with just a single connected computer. Check if Monitor 1 restricts input changes when a DP out device is attached.
Yes, they do. That's why I'm hesitant about DP/HDMI tricks and oddities. Or perhaps it's related to the dock, as @Robchil mentioned? From your comments, it seems like this kind of workflow might not fit with my hardware. It's not a major concern, but switching between Windows and macOS is something I do often, and I hadn't thought it would cause problems.
It should be feasible, though possibly not using a daisy chain. Would you like the daisy chain or could you connect the second monitor directly to your Windows PC? I'm set up similarly without a daisy chain—34" via DP to PC, 27" via DP to PC, and HDMI to laptop. Switching would need to be done separately for each monitor. For daisy chain to function, the first monitor must connect via DP to both the PC and laptop. You might use the dock's DP output instead.
