I noticed the discussions around Windows 10 threads are a bit scattered. Since Google hasn't provided clear guidance, I've been testing Windows 10 in Technical Preview for several months. After release, my System Properties showed Windows 10 Pro, but earlier it listed Technical Preview. Speccy confirmed a 64-bit version. I'm planning a clean install because the current version isn’t what I need, and I don’t have a standard product key. According to Speccy, I do have one, though I’m unsure if a clean install would actually work. I’m worried it might fail or require switching back to another OS. Technical Preview is already out, so I’d appreciate any advice from others who’ve done this successfully.

Simplest method to reset settings is through the recovery option, then refresh the PC and completely wipe all data.

In step 2 of their guide, you’ll see that I didn’t purchase Windows 10 and didn’t upgrade from versions 7 or 8. This means the tutorial might not apply to me. I prefer a reliable option before proceeding, just in case I want to keep my operating system intact.

Noted, I heard that might not be the case. Great setup—regular Windows 10 with a valid product key works perfectly. Helpful!
