Hey, thanks everyone for the replies. Yes, I naïvely purchased 128 GB (4×32 GB) thinking it would just work, found out the hard way that it’s not always that simple. I have them now and I’m currently waiting for the rest of the parts to arrive so I can build the PC and tinker to see where I end up. And yes, this is a professional requirement, and it’s not putting a huge dent in my finances since the ROI is pretty good. In a perfect world, I’d be on a Threadripper setup, no question (I even looked into the ThinkStation P8), but unfortunately my budget just didn’t allow for it, even going back to 3rd-gen TR (3945WX, etc.). Those chips are still about three times the cost of what I paid for the 9950X. So I had to find the best balance I could.

Give it a try—it should work well. Particularly if you're used to an older setup with limited memory. If your machine becomes sluggish, the issue goes beyond just RAM. My personal PCs have 6000CL30, but at work I had a 2xchannel system with 2x32GB and only reached 4400. I'm sure you can push it further.

I installed 128GB Corsair RAM, purchasing two sets months apart, paired with my Ryzen 9 7900X and Gigabyte Aorus Ax board. It functioned properly at the standard 4800 MTS rate. You should be all set. Avoid XMP unless you're ready to run Memtest for extended periods to ensure reliability.

It seems your system handles 4800 MHz well but encounters issues at 5000 MHz during MemTest. There are resources available to experiment with DRAM settings. Your lack of a POST code display on the motherboard is confusing—does the EZ Debug indicator actually help during troubleshooting, or is it stuck?

If it's stuck in the DRAM light, it probably hasn't finished training yet. Keep in mind that working with such dense configurations can be very slow. I experienced training sessions that went on for hours.
