The 980ti Amp Extreme edition is fully operational. Performance hits 40fps with no issues. It’s been my standard benchmark since launch. On my laptop, it ran smoothly at High/1440 at 60fps. For the desktop, it handled 780 frames per second at ultra settings and 1440 with minimal upscaling at 60fps. The 980ti doesn’t meet Ultra performance requirements with ubersampled 1440 frames—does that make sense?
Could be due to game restrictions. Garry's Mod slows down with lots of explosions and on a powerful machine.
My 980ti is really messing with Witcher 3. I think it varies between 50 and 60, though it often stays around 60fps when everything runs at 1440p.
I disagree in that its completely unnecessary. Everyone says the Witcher 2 looks beautiful but it's one of the worst looking games I've ever played as far as aliasing is concerned. I'm gonna try DSR and see how that works. Finished it a million times but there is so much texture/edge flickering in the game.
From my perspective, super-sampling isn't included in the settings. If you consider it this way, if you can't DSR a game at 4K, you're not maxing it out! Because it's actually rendering the game at a very high resolution and then scaling it down to your monitor, which is really taxing. Especially with a base resolution of 1440p, this game likely doubles or quadruples that resolution. That's what this setting does.
