You're considering the Ryzen 5 5600G and Gigabyte B450 DS3H, and some recommend the B550 series. It's a bit confusing. Also, you're thinking about adding an RTX 2060 later.

the b550 line will include features such as gen4 storage, a real launch for a suitable bios, the possibility of skipping updates for compatible bios, and a strong likelihood of supporting next-gen/zen3d/ryzen6000.

The B450 DS3H is compatible with 5000 gen AMD CPUs according to Gigabytes' official page. However, HelpfulTechWizard notes that purchasing a B550 board would offer better features and a BIOS that supports these chips from the start.

Not gaurenteed. A lot of boards either make new boards with old bioses (seen it here, boards manufactured over a month after release still shipping with old bioses), but there is a chance. on b450 its a beta bios (for everyone) that suports zen3, so its never offically suported

The absence of PCIE4 support on a B450 is largely irrelevant because 5600G doesn’t support it either. Adding PCIE4 to a B550 could simplify future CPU upgrades, but likely the best option now is to purchase a new, affordable motherboard.
