Hello everyone. I’m completely new to overclocking, so any guidance you can give is super valuable. I just got this CPU, an i7-6850k, which is the third one I’ve had. I’ve been using this machine for a while now and have experimented with it, learning a lot along the way. Every CPU that’s come in has been the same model. The first one lasted roughly 3 to 4 years before I had to replace it—I don’t remember exactly when. The second one I pushed too hard on overclocking and it failed within weeks because of my lack of experience. Now the third one is brand new, and I’m not planning a big overclock, but I want it to run super smoothly so I won’t experience stutters or miss frames. That changed when I checked its BIOS settings. (These are the default values.) It was a bit shocking, so I quickly adjusted them using an XTU tool. I went back into the BIOS to confirm it’s still set to defaults and everything looks normal. I’m really curious—am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help!

That probably means no limit, or unlimited... it's awfully close to a 12 bit value, 2 12 = 4096 You cant consume that much power, you'd be limited by the power supply and the outlet in your room (around 1600 watts in US)

Thanks for the update. The main thing to watch is the "Core Voltage" reading. I recall a video where Linus accidentally damaged the processor due to excessive voltage, causing the computer to restart at maximum power during startup and ultimately failing. I also remember my previous CPU suffered the same issue when too much voltage was applied.
