Hello. I've been thinking about playing Forza Horizon 3 once it's available for PC. I didn't play the first two versions because they were unoptimized, so I waited. Now that it's been a while, I'm reaching out to those who played it on PC—has it been optimized yet? My system meets the requirements: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz, 4GB RX 470, 16GB DDR3 RAM. This is what I'm talking about, uploaded soon after its PC release.
I've been using it frequently recently. I tested it on a 2500k and GTX 970 with 8GB RAM, and it performed poorly across various settings—high and ultra—but remained playable in the mid to high 30s. The newer PC 7700K with GTX 970 and 16GB RAM handles everything at ultra around 55–65 FPS. I expect better performance on my system, but I've noticed frequent crashes now.
Microsoft is rumored to be launching a new game mode for Windows 10 aimed at resolving the stuttering issue.
I've been using it for a while and haven't seen any performance problems until I switched off auto and pushed all the settings high. I'm also running at ultra wide 3440x1440 resolution. My system is a powerful i7-4790k with 32GB DDR3, GTX1080 SSDs, and Windows 10 version 64.
I adjusted the settings manually to achieve the ultra wide effect.
Similar to other game settings videos, then adjust the resolution. 3440x1440 works for me. A recurring issue is artifacts near the right side of the screen whenever I start playing. I captured a short clip but forgot to fine-tune the settings, so it was resized to 720p and I added my AUX monitors to view CPU usage during gameplay, though the image quality remains blurry. If you're interested, check out the video. Around the 7-minute mark I switch to just the game monitor, so skip ahead to remove those extra screens. At 1:30 I enter the settings menu. If you'd like, I can create a higher-quality capture and overlay CPU graphs onto the game.
