I assembled an AMD Ryzen 5600g paired with the same GPU as a budget Chinese surplus Xeon. It outperformed it in every benchmark I tested. Would I recommend it to a beginner? Not really. Technically, the x99 (2011-3) is outdated and some games struggle with many cores/threads (like unremastered titles that crash). Its turbo speed is only about 3 GHz. It’s enjoyable but not practical for daily use. I assembled it for roughly $300 (though I got the CPU, RAM, and motherboard at a deep discount during an Xmas sale for around $60 in the US). If you’re upgrading from what you have, go with AMD—it’s more current. For those who like to experiment, x99 boards are a great project.

The latest Phantom Liberty trailer is out, and I’m definitely feeling excited despite the game’s reception three years ago. The storyline giving V a chance really caught my attention. It’s frustrating there seems to be no satisfying conclusion, but now with some hope ahead, I’m looking forward to September. Are you all on the same train?
