I'm using an i5 6400 with its integrated GPU, and I'm thinking about upgrading soon. The current configuration handles over 90 FPS, but there are moments when lag spikes occur. With 8 GB RAM running at 2133 MHz, I feel confident it can support Minecraft.

The delay increase is due to multiple factors, not just the CPU.

Using a GPU along with extra RAM usually improves performance. If you're using one GPU and lack sufficient RAM, adding more RAM or upgrading the GPU can also boost speed.
