who owns the pre-order for Starfield and who’s aiming to play it on September 1st? Are they set for the release dates around September 5th or 6th? How enthusiastic are you about this new Bethesda RPG? I’m really looking forward to it—this has been a long time since Falllout 4 and Skyrim brought me that kind of open-world feel. Few games have captured that vibe, and I’m eager to dive into another major Bethesda title. I went for the premium edition because I was hoping for DLC too, which made the earlier access even more appealing, especially convincing my partner to join in as well.
It seems surprisingly under the radar about this. I enjoy single-player RPG titles, especially after sim racing. So far, I haven’t connected well with Skyrim, Fallout, or any Bethesda releases. I’m sure I’ll purchase Starfield eventually, but I’ll hold off until there’s a good deal in a few years. With so many other games to try, I need to focus on finishing my current list before diving into new titles. It’s hard not to get caught up in buying games instead of playing them.
I think I’ll manage to get it eventually, even if it’s not overly excited. I’ve tried the typical Bethesda RPGs—Fallout and Skyrim—and history has convinced me to purchase these titles now that most bugs are resolved, DLCs are available, and the selection of bug-fix mods is excellent.
Absolutely enthusiastic about this news. The Elder Scrolls have always been a standout title for me. The Fallouts also seem really appealing (though I haven’t tried them yet). I don’t usually go ahead with preorders, but I do have a GamePass subscription. This time I opted for the premium upgrade, hoping it would work well with my standard edition. It was a bit pricey, but the main draw was the promise of a story/side quest addon and a Friday release date—something that really mattered to me. That Friday felt important enough to decide on. If it lives up to past Bethesda games, I’m glad. And if the mod support isn’t solid with the Windows version, I’ll definitely consider the Steam edition later. (I always skip modding on my first playthrough.)
I'm really pumped, but Baldur's Gate 3 has pulled me off track so much that my excitement for Starfield is paused right now. The main concern though is how long it'll take for modders to include Skyrim dragons and a version of The Lusty Argonian Maid in the game.
Maybe? I’m not committing ahead, but I’ll keep an eye on the launch day reviews. This seems like an exceptional year for new games—so I won’t rush in. I think they should wait about six months to fix the major updates, given Bethesda’s track record...
