Yes, I'm a bit into vSync! What's up?
Hi guys. Down the bottom is a link to the Straw Poll, don't think many will vote but it takes 2 seconds to set up so meh. How do you guys run your game? I have always been a heavy Vsync user. I find tearing unacceptable but that has not always been the case. Back in my css days I always ran with it off as for some reason the input lag was super noticeable with that game. While with other games I hardly notice it. Recently I got GTA 5 and I was faced with a option of pushing my graphics settings super low so I can get a stable 60 for Vsync or do away with it for a stable 60ish with a much better visual experience. Interested too here from people to see how they run there games. I have been debating whether or not to try and last till next generation to upgrade but after GTA 5 did a number on my 7970 I feel now is a good time. That said I hope to move to Gsync in a year or from a 1080p/60hz to 1440p 144hz isp gsync but not ready to commit yet. I currently game on a 32 inch Bravia (don't laugh) as my old monitor broke and I have not been bothered to buy a new one. http://strawpoll.me/4265750
The purpose of a straw-poll is to gather quick opinions without voting, while the forum’s built-in survey offers structured feedback. As for your note, I don’t rely on Vsync.
He didn’t notice the built-in feature... just go ahead and scrub it out. This is my first time really using the forums, so I’m a bit confused about what works.
Typically not built-in vsync works smoothly, since it shifts between 30 and 60 frames. On a 1080p screen I usually relied on adaptive vsync. Now it’s unnecessary. 960 and 1440p rarely exceed 60fps.
I prefer not to tear images. My GPU (R9 290) handles over 60fps, so enabling v-sync gives me a smooth visual experience, and handling a lag of up to 16ms isn’t an issue for me. If I were a competitive gamer, it might matter more. For some reason, I don’t see tearing in certain games, so I skip the setting.
