I just enjoy playing BF4 and an i3 might cause a slowdown.

This occurs with Pentiums, yet I can play any game on my i3 due to Hyperthreading.

Take a basic i5, not an i3, it won’t last long for gaming. Don’t argue with me about performance—just get a better CPU so your system stays smooth.

Find compatible GPUs that won’t cause bottlenecks and let you maintain around 60 FPS.

It works well for gaming... other choices exist if you have the budget. Many who buy an i3-4150 aren't targeting a GTX980, so limiting performance isn't a big concern. We've heard claims like "outdated soon" or "6-core titles arriving soon" each year since 2012, but it hasn't changed. DirectX 12 already cuts down CPU workload.
