You're looking into whether an i3 processor can handle modern games smoothly. At 60 FPS in normal, medium, or high settings, it should work for many titles. Some older or graphically demanding games might struggle, but most current releases are designed to run on this hardware. To identify which games won't fit, check the recommended specs on the game's official page or community forums.

It's a tricky question. It varies by game—some rely more on CPU power than others. For example, I could handle running Pac-Man on an i3. What games do you enjoy playing?

Yes, I can achieve 160 FPS in CSGO using an 4130 and a R9 270X with 4GB RAM.

Go for something better instead of an i5. Invest wisely and get a solid machine.

It's a solid beginning if you're building the CPU yourself and aiming to upgrade later. You should also consider a good GPU and a reliable PSU—just opt for a 500W or 600W power supply with an i3 processor for future upgrades.

I suggest the i5-4460, which is about $50 more than a standard i3, compared to an i3. It should still work fine.

AC except unity works, Dota 2 and Batman series should also be okay for an i3. Not sure about BF4 or GTA V.

It usually stays around 8350 or 9590 in most games, but if you're looking for a cheaper option, go for 4160 or 4170. However, if you're patient, waiting could let you save about $60 and get an i5 4460.

Observe which titles refuse to start on an i3 model, visit the Steam store, and review the essential system specs.
