Certainly of course, some titles shine more when played with a controller. I struggled to adapt to Assassins Creed's keyboard and mouse setup, and third-person experiences like those in Fable felt sloppy. Still, I favored Tomb Raider 2013 using a mouse and keyboard, and the Dragon Age games consistently offered a much better interface on PC.
I recently invested in an XBone controller and have no regrets about it. For me, some games are just better played with a controller (platformers, hack n slash, racing) and others are better played with a keyboard and mouse (shooters, strategy, point and click etc). That sucks, thankfully wireless support is supposed to be coming later this year.
I notice third-person action titles such as Batman Arkham and Shadow of Mordor work well with a controller, yet I find them unpleasant. For me, using a mouse and keyboard is preferable in those situations. My Xbone controller suits most 2D titles, emulated Nintendo releases, and games like Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons that were built around analog sticks. Also, digital games that naturally lend themselves to analog input often feel more enjoyable on a gamepad rather than a mouse and keyboard—especially for racing or flight simulators, since I don’t have a flight stick or wheel right now.
It's perfectly fine, I also need a controller for non-FPS and non-Moba titles, especially for Mortal Kombat X.
