It's unusual to see people playing games alone. I usually think MMORPGs are meant for social interaction, so playing them solo feels a bit strange. Do you enjoy playing MMORPGs together?

It seems you're questioning the value of those games. Many players find them too casual since they can be played solo without much pressure.

I usually have several characters, some for interacting with specific friend groups and one solo player. This varies depending on the MMO. Some are quite strict about your own playstyle, while others are more flexible. I mainly play TERA solo because I enjoy the challenge of facing a BAM character alone, but it restricts me to classes that focus on dodging, which limits my options.

What are friends? I played WOW to connect with others and try to form some relationships. While I met interesting people, I never really bonded with anyone locally. Playing an MMORPG alone wasn’t always solo—I joined PVP with my son and assisted his mom’s quest occasionally—but it was frustrating when I attempted to start a guild. I lacked enough people to fill it for raids, and even recruiting strangers was slow. Still, maybe it was nice not having a raid group of friends; MMORPGs can reveal the worst in people, especially during raids.

You can interact with yourself. It's not as enjoyable.
