Yes go 144hz. I can't describe and also don't trust anyone that tells you you can only see 30fps. Also don't trust people that tells you 60hz vs 120hz/144hz is the same cause it's not. 144hz is insane if you get 144fps. I say wait for freesync monitors to come cause that will help you a lot. Will be a better buy than a 144hz now cause when they come out you won't need 144fps all the time and will make games much smoother overall. I'm running qnix qx2710 2560x1440@96hz and must say amazing monitor. I just don't have the horsepower to get 96fps in most games unless I tune down settings. At least bf4 on high I get 95fps (1 less vsync to account for input lag) and I will never go back to 60hz. Just a pain in the butt that they made COD:AW 91fps limit. Check Black ops and Black ops 2 it ran so smooth with the unlimited fps.
I tried the program named fraps, but it says I'm hitting 80 to 120 frames per second. My monitor only goes up to 60, which might be the reason for the lack of smooth video.
