The i7 hits temperatures over 50 degrees. Could this harm the RAM that's just a few centimeters away? I'm concerned after seeing three memory-related issues, possibly indicating damage from the heat.

50C is a reasonable temperature, and your RAM would benefit from built-in heat spreaders...such a high temperature is highly improbable.
