You can connect an NVMe SSD to your motherboard via a PCIe NVMe adapter. It should work as a boot drive if it supports the latest BIOS version.

NVMe boot drives were introduced with Z97 and H97 models. Earlier Haswell chips don’t support them.

I managed to launch it from an NVMe storage using this tutorial: https://www.win-raid.com/t871f50-HowTo-G...-BIOS.html. It’s a great resource! Easy to understand, and the modding step didn’t even require an hour.
