I thoroughly enjoyed the online experience for around 60 hours. It remains enjoyable to play with friends from time to time. However, I haven't been playing it much lately. I haven't even tried the single-player mode yet, which I plan to tackle eventually. The first hacker I encountered was quite amusing—he was hurling snowballs at me. I don’t believe hackers ruin this game at all. It’s very simple to switch servers or just avoid them altogether by playing on your own server. The game is definitely worth the investment. I think Rockstar did an excellent job with the PC version.
It seems Rockstar believes only Americans use their service. There are no servers in Europe, Oceania, Asia, etc. Connecting is difficult, and once you manage it, performance suffers. Don't rely on this for online use—I tried and found it doesn’t work well for me.
I've never considered this game particularly impressive—it still faces problems like cheating, lag, and bad matchmaking. The load times are slow, connections drop unexpectedly, and missions or mini-games often cause issues. At $60, it's only worth it if you have friends to play with; otherwise, it might be better to wait for the Summer Sale.
