Sorry guys, I might not have the best answers for everyone. My landlord uses air fibre for internet, which should’ve been mentioned—it’s only 100mbps and it’s supposed to be for a week or month. Not sure if it’ll get faster to 200mbps. I’m still checking out the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Dual-Band Gaming WiFi Router Ai Mesh WiFi System because South Africa has very few routers. I don’t find any with similar features, and some are really pricey. The ROG is currently on special from R7000 to R4200, which is around 400$ to 241$, about 159 off. I’m looking for something that lasts and doesn’t break the bank. All your options are good, but they’re hard to find here.

We get it perfectly, it seems "Gaming" routers are just marketing hype. You probably could find a more affordable option that works just as well. Just think about the features you actually require. A router capable of handling 200 Mbps should suffice; only upgrade to a pricier model when speeds reach 1 Gbps or higher. When picking one, focus on what matters most and move from there. WiFi technology keeps evolving—WiFi 7 was approved in 2024 and WiFi 8 is expected by 2028. To stay ahead, beyond the WiFi standard you should prioritize faster Ethernet ports.

How many gadgets are connected simultaneously? Even with a basic PC, phone, and TV, modern routers can typically manage up to 200 Mbps.
