I have used rainmeter a lot, but stopped using it after creating a skin that was eating 60MB of RAM. Here is a screenshot of the skin I made for rainmeter. Now I use Windows 7 Gadgets from http://addgadgets.com , in my Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers, they only eat 25MB of RAM. If you want to use Windows 7 Gadgets in Windows 8 and 8.1, download a thing called http://8gadgetpack.net/ . Here is my PC1 desktop, Windows 7 + gadgets from addgadgets.com .
