I maintain around 300 fps while playing VALORANT, but after roughly an hour the frame rate gradually decreases to 170 fps and remains steady there. The thermal performance is acceptable when monitoring at 170 fps, with CPU and GPU temperatures staying between 55-65°C. When I stop gaming, the frames continue at 300 fps.

System details:
CPU: Ryzen 5600X
GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC 3070 8GB
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2x8GB DDR4-3600 CL16
Motherboard: MSI B450M Pro-M2 Max
Power Supply: EVGA Supernova 750W Gold

Performance decline over time suggests a thermal problem.
Check Hwmonitor for maximum temperature readings.
Current temperature reflects what happens when throttled.
What else about your specifications?

It’s the sole game where I observe the FPS decrease, so I’m uncertain.

I'll check back regarding the temperatures later today, but the remaining specifications are: Case - Corsair 4000D and CPU cooler - Noctua NH-U12A.

Thermals perform adequately when I monitor the drop to 170 fps, maintaining temperatures between 55-65°C for both CPU and GPU.

After a gaming session, the maximum CPU temperatures can vary based on factors like cooling system efficiency and workload intensity. It's important to monitor these values to ensure optimal performance and prevent overheating.

When playing Valorant, examine your task manager to identify any other programs using resources like downloads or background processes. Ensure your GPU drivers are current.

Maybe it has something to do with Valorant.
Check the Valorant forums for settings and updates.
