You might face compatibility issues since the Steam page warns that Fallout 3 isn't optimized for Windows 7 and newer versions. Check if the discount applies to older systems or consider alternative platforms.

It varies; it usually works well most of the time. I didn’t encounter any issues.

It's quite inconsistent, for example I struggled to get it to function on Windows 7 even though I understood the solutions. However, numerous users report it works smoothly.

These adjustments have allowed me to play Fallout on Windows 10 smoothly, and they functioned on both my desktop and laptop. They also worked with Windows 7. The unofficial patches and the Windows Live Disabler were used successfully. As always, results can vary, but it’s not my responsibility if it doesn’t work. In the worst case, you can ask for a refund from Steam.

I've tried all the fixes available yet. Still no success. When I attempt to enter DC, it fails unpredictably.

I only had problems with Fallout 3 and Windows 7 (tested on three different systems), while Windows 10 worked perfectly. I played several hours recently and didn’t notice any crashes, unlike with Windows 7 where I had to constantly save frequently.

Fallout 3 frequently stopped on Windows 7, but worked fine on Windows 8, 10, and 8.1. It only crashes when I enable DCInteriors, otherwise it runs smoothly.

It functions on my Windows 10 laptop (660m/quad-core), but not on my desktop version (980/hexacore). It worked before with Windows 8.1, so the issue seems specific to those settings. Adjustments will likely be needed for it to operate properly. It might work fine, though the reasons are unclear and seem random. If it fails, you can return a refund on Steam.

Generally it runs smoothly on W8.1, though I've faced issues before with many mods. There was a helpful thread from April with a fixlist that worked for someone— Good luck!
