I'm explaining why it doesn't work for me, and I've encountered similar problems while searching for a solution.

You need a solution, but you don’t want recommendations… smart.

I've been working on it for the past three hours. Your suggestions didn't help much. So far, I'm stable after applying the unofficial patch from NMM. It kept crashing when the patch was loaded. Also, installing the large file mod incorrectly—some say use the EXE but it needs to be the launcher. If I make it through tonight, I'll update. But I crashed before then. That was the longest time I've been stuck. Almost an hour. Up to now, I have the latest unofficial patch in Steam, the large file mod (desktop), stability mod for NMM, Games for Windows disabled, Archivelnvalidation Invalidated for NMM, plus some texture packs. I was doing fine then, but tried to open DC and it kept crashing. I slowed down to let it load, but I was tempted to try running it from the onboard graphics chip. Anyone else tried that?
