I tried to run the game on my new system before the update. A compatibility warning appeared, and after about 20-30 minutes the screen would freeze. It’s really annoying! Do you know any solutions or workarounds? I came across something paid, but it seems like a hassle to pay for something I already have. Do I need help or am I stuck?

Search for Fallout 3 on Windows 7 solutions online. You should find a workaround.

I've tested all the available solutions, but nothing has helped. The only idea I have is that my system might be overclocked. There are some YouTube guides that have shown results for others.

I have Windows Live games installed, I'm running them in admin settings, and I've updated the INI file for a multi-core processor. Still nothing happens. When it works, it runs extremely fast but then crashes completely—only a restart resolves the issue. Perhaps I should upgrade to a newer Dell model and endure the problem?

Common Win7 problems? I haven’t seen any issues with Fallout 3 running on x64 Windows 7. Likely the game’s developers are to blame, not the OS itself.

Fallout 3 runs smoothly on the 10th console. I played it last week too.

Perform a fresh installation of Windows 10, install the latest drivers and dependencies, apply F3...Update Fallout 3, include unofficial updates, and disable Windows User Control.

It functions well for you, no issues there—great. Others face challenges too. Why? I’m not sure. My PC is only a few months old, and I just installed Windows 10 about a week ago. No matter what I try with Fallout 3 or Steam, it keeps failing. Your absence of problems doesn’t erase ours.
