I possess an 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller. When I press and hold start, select, a, b, x and y using my thumb and gently lift it slightly while wiggling the button, occasionally multiple presses occur. This issue also appeared on my previous Xbox controller with the same buttons. The wiggle motion sometimes leads to unintended double presses. When pressing a button with my thumb straight down and applying vertical force toward the center, I experience only one press. Occasionally, using my index finger causes horizontal movement across the button surface, resulting in multiple presses. Most times, pressing with the index finger works correctly. However, improper use—such as horizontal sliding—can trigger double inputs. This phenomenon occurred 5 to 10 times in 2023. I purchased the controller in October 2022. The double input seems to have happened by accident when I pressed buttons incorrectly with my index finger, but it didn’t occur if the rubber contact dome was intact. A worn dome can cause double inputs, yet if it was truly damaged, more occurrences would be expected.
